Pumpkin

In loving memory 10/23/2017 – 9/30/2025

Pumpkin came to us in 2018 from a wonderful client who found her on the side of the road after she had been hit by a car and suffered several injuries that deemed her to become our special needs cat. If you ever walked into our lobby she could be found sun basking on the welcome mats, rubbing up on your legs, or rolling over to ask for pets. When she was not up front or hounding her girls for all the snacks (fun fact: in her mind there were never enough), she could be found curled up in our blanket rack, or in her various beds. She was full of personality and never let her medical issues slow her down for even a second.
For a few months, Pumpkin had been battling recurring left eye drainage and facial swelling that led us to having a CT scan completed. It was determined that Punkers had an aggressive nasal tumor that was eating away at her nasal and jawbone and occluding her lacrimal duct (causing the buildup and abnormal drainage). Unfortunately, this type of tumor does not have a good outcome and to ensure she never suffered a poor quality of life, Dr. Tallman made the decision to let her go peacefully before things worsened further. For educational purposes we chose to share the photos of her CT visit which can be found on our facebook page – It was a mobile unit where the doctor came to the clinic and Pumpkin had her appointment done right out in our parking lot.
Owning a pet is a blessing but does not come without heartbreak, no matter how much we wish it didn’t. We were blessed to have our sweet girl for 7 years and cherished every moment.
